Healthy Breakfast “In-A-Jar”

Imagine waking up to a hearty breakfast that is completely portable and can be enjoyed on-the- go…

No, I'm not talking about fast food, I'm talking about a healthy breakfast served in a mason jar.  Let me show you how to make "Chia Seed Bircher Muesli" tonight and you can wake up to it for breakfast tomorrow!

All great recipes start with a mason jar.  I like to use my vintage blue one!

Inside you will layer Greek yogurt, old-fashioned rolled oats (not steel cut or instant), cinnamon, vanilla extract, nuts, chia seeds and fruit (diced fresh fruit or dried fruit).  You can get creative and use your favorite flavors of yogurt, any type of nuts and whatever fresh fruit you have on hand.

My signature combination uses Chobani Pear, pecans, and diced fresh pear.  I have also tried it with plain Greek yogurt, almond extract, sliced almonds and dried blueberries.  Both great combinations!

Once all the ingredients are in the mason jar, secure the lid tightly and shake it up!  Then just pop the jar in the refrigerator overnight.  You will wake up to a hearty and healthy breakfast that can be enjoyed anywhere.
