I am always on the lookout for new banana bread recipes to try. When I first saw Wells Banana Bread Beer, naturally I was intrigued! A beer that tastes like banana bread? Sign me up!
I figured it would not only be great for sipping, but might also be fun to use in recipes. Thus, "Beer-nana Bread" was born!
Keep reading for the recipe!
This unique brew has a subtle banana flavor. Nothing too sweet or overpowering. Wells describes it as, "Tempting banoffee aromas tempered by a grassy, lemony nose all leading to a finely balanced, fresh, delicate flavour of peppery hops with a lingering dry finish."
In this recipe, I added about a 1/4 cup of the Banana Bread Beer to the batter and then another 1/4 cup into the sweet drizzle on top. If you can't find this specialty beer, you can certainly substitute your favorite brand. (I found this bottle at Whole Foods.)
The banana bread came out moist and flavorful with a hint of beer taste. Just for fun, you can slice the bread and serve it out of beer mugs!
