Get ready, because this seafood salad and the (super simple, yet spectacular) homemade vinaigrette is sure to be your new favorite!
Piled high with crab, shrimp and eggs, this New Orleans classic is more than a salad – it is a meal.

In April my sister and her now husband got married in New Orleans and had their reception at the legendary Galatoire's Restaurant. Their recipe for Godchaux Salad is my brother-in-law's favorite. I didn't know this until recently when he started making the Creole Mustard Vinaigrette when I come over for Sunday dinner. Needless to say, I was hooked! I asked him for the recipe and he told me it was part of this iconic salad from Galatoire's.
I suggest whipping up a batch of the dressing and keeping it in the fridge to drizzle over just about any salad or cold vegetable platter. When you are ready for an indulgence, prepare the complete recipe for Godchaux Salad. The crab and shrimp pair perfectly with the mustard dressing. In my version I left out the anchovies (much to my brother-in-law's chagrin!) but you can feel free to garnish the salad with two anchovy fillets.
