Can you believe Thanksgiving is over and we are now officially into the holiday season? We want to know – how was your Thanksgiving celebration? Tell us in the comments! But first I want to share the perfect treat for these chilly December mornings. Or afternoons. Or evenings. When was the last time you made cinnamon toast?! As I find myself with a house full of family and friends many of these winter weekends, I'm rediscovering this beloved childhood favorite as the perfect easy treat for any meal or snack.

There are two breakfast recipes my father had mastered when it came to getting his young daughters out the door: any form of cereal and fresh-from-the-oven cinnamon toast. To this day the oh-so-simple combination of butter, sugar, and cinnamon still makes me smile when I think of those hurried mornings.

I haven't made cinnamon toast in a long time; it is something that (sadly) seems to slip my mind. But when I discovered this brilliant recipe using my all-time favorite dinner rolls, I knew it was time to give my dad's old standby breakfast another whirl. I always – and I mean always –have Sister Schubert's Parker House rolls in my freezer, but when it's only my husband and I eating them we always have a handful leftover. Thank goodness for this cinnamon toast, because it is definitely the most inspired way to repurpose the last few rolls standing. A full batch makes a great treat for Christmas morning, too! I mean, these literally TASTE like Christmas, so it makes sense.

Best of all, these rolls let me be the host I want to be – I want to be depend upon to offer my guests something delicious and basically effortless. The Sister Schubert's rolls elevate this to something above a basic toast snack without making me spend hours in the kitchen. These buttery morsels of love beg for a cup of coffee, a good friend, and a comfy sofa. On a chilly winter day they make a quick, comforting snack, and are destined to bring cinnamon toast back into everyone's regular rotation.
