Best Steak Ever – Marinated Asian Steak with Cucumber and Napa Cabbage Salad

The winning recipe in our "Best Steak Ever" contest is an easy weeknight meal that can be prepared outdoors on the grill or inside your kitchen under the broiler.

Congratulations to "dnoecker2002" for creating the winning recipe "Marinated Asian Steak with Cucumber and Napa Cabbage Salad!"

Keep reading for the winning recipe…

The recipe begins with an easy Asian marinade for the steak that later doubles as a salad dressing for the napa cabbage and cucumber.  I really enjoyed the bit of heat from the red pepper flakes!  The flavor infused into the flank steak and added a little kick to the salad.

This flank steak can be prepared outside on the grill or indoors using your broiler.  I hadn't used the broiler on my new KitchenAid range, so this winning recipe was a great opportunity to give it a spin!

I started by putting down non-stick foil on a baking sheet.  After placing the steak on the foil, I folded up the sides a bit to catch any drippings.  Then I broiled the steak about 4 inches from the flame and after 8 minutes it was a perfect medium-rare.  This preparation couldn't be easier and the clean-up was a snap!

While the steak was under the broiler I made the salad.  Besides the marinating time, this really is a 10 minute meal!
