 Back-to-school time is always bittersweet. There's the excitement of returning to friends and favorite teachers, but it's always hard to bid goodbye to summer. One way to sweeten the return to school is to celebrate with a special after-school snack –– something that shows you're thinking about them. Once they've enjoyed their cookies, it might turn into an opportunity to get them into the kitchen, whipping up another batch to share with old and new friends. Maxwell shows how to make these simple cookies and talks about sweetening the back-to-school routine in the video above. These cookies are very simple and easy to make — who doesn't love a special afternoon snack? These treats put a new and colorful spin on a classic recipe by using M&M'S® Chocolate Candies. Sprinkle your child's favorite color through their cookies, or make these cookies extra-special by using M&M'S® MINIS to spell out your child's initials on the top of the cookie or add a smiley face — or even a wink. M&M'S® Cookiesmakes about 36 cookies1 1/3 cups packed brown sugar Preheat oven to 350°F. In a mixing bowl, mix sugar, butter, vanilla and eggs until well blended. Stir in the remaining ingredients. Drop dough by rounded tablespoons onto a lightly greased cookie sheet, about 3 inches apart. Press 3 or 4 additional M&M'S® Milk Chocolate Candies into each cookie.
