There's no doubt that Thanksgiving dinner can be a exercise in carbo-loading. It's the one day where it is completely acceptable to pile your plate high with mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, stuffing, and more. However, the next day, you might want to take it a little easier.
Instead of the typical leftover turkey sandwich, why not try a crisp and fresh lettuce wrap! Leftover turkey is combined with Asian-inspired flavors: hoisin sauce, sesame oil, ginger and lime. Diced pears are tossed in for crunch (perfectly 'peared' – get it!). The wrap is topped off with shredded carrot, toasted walnuts and a little mint. The result is a bright and flavorful dish to enjoy after Thanksgiving or any time of year!
Tip: Print out this recipe and include the ingredients in your Thanksgiving shopping list. That way, you are all set to enjoy your leftovers the next day!
