I have tried so hard to hold off posting Christmas recipes until after Thanksgiving and it has all but drained me of my willpower. My celebration of Christmas and the entire winter season starts full force the day after Thanksgiving.
Our lights go up, our tree goes up and I sing along to Christmas carols as I sip on coffee laced with peppermint mocha creamer. I'm a bit of a peppermint fanatic this time of year. I love it in cookies, coffee, candy and my newest favorite treat: Chocolate Peppermint Fondue.
Chocolate fondue is a breeze to make and you need just a few basic ingredients. It's simply chocolate melted into warm cream with one or two flavor enhancements; in the case of this Chocolate Peppermint Fondue, I added Andes Peppermint Crunch Baking Chips and a splash of peppermint liqueur.
Chocolate fondue is an quick and easy dessert that makes any party a bit fancier and lots more fun. I love how fondue gets your guests involved in the process of creating their own dessert, without a lot of actual labor. Not having a large party? Chocolate Peppermint Fondue is the perfect romantic treat to share with your loved one on a chilly, snowy night in. Add a crackling fire in the fireplace and a glass of wine and you have the makings of a fantastic made-for-TV holiday movie. Am I right?
This year, I plan on serving up a warm pot of this Chocolate Peppermint Fondue at my family's annual cookie swap party. Yes, the party will be full of cookies, but it's a good idea to break up all the cookies with a lovely fondue table and this Chocolate Peppermint Fondue will be just the thing we need to make this year's cookie swap party extra memorable.
Store bought dippers like pretzels, marshmallows, shortbread cookies and strawberries make this truly a no-fuss dessert. Plus, serving peppermint-y chocolate fondue in a gorgeous cherry red Swissmar Sierra Cast Iron Fondue Pot turns this dessert into a holiday centerpiece that is perfect for any party!
Happy Holidays!
