Spritz Cookie Tips:
1) Do NOT use a non-stick cookie sheet.
The cookie sheet must be clean, cold, and not non-stick coated. Cookies will not stick to waxed paper, parchment, or a greased cookie sheet. Cookies do not fall off the press, they stick to the sheet.
2) Find a rhythm.
One key to using a cookie press is dispensing the cookies in rapid succession. Stopping and starting will result in inconsistent cookies. Also remember that each disk with its unique size and shape may require a slightly different pace. Remember to pull the cookie press off in a straight upward motion for best results.
3) Dough must be sticky.
If you choose to use food coloring, it could affect the consistency of your dough. If the dough feels too dry, sprinkle lightly with water. Do not chill dough, it will dry out.
I love using this new Country Crock spread not only to make the cookies a bit lighter, but also because it is already perfectly softened, right out of tub straight from the refrigerator! So often I get the urge to make cookies but don't have any butter softened. With this recipe, I am make one of my favorites at a moments notice!
