Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Shooters

Pumpkin Pie Ice Cream Shooters Photo

Halloween parties are the best. I love it when people go all out making wild displays of haunting food that tastes amazing. Some of my favorites are popcorn pops that look like spiderwebs and gorgeous candy corn martinis. I am not a hugely talented food decorator, so when it comes time for me to make the food to serve I keep it simple and cute. My favorite things to make are little pumpkin pie ice cream shooters.

There is no alcohol in these despite the fact that they are served in shot glasses. The general gist is that pumpkin ice cream is blended into a milkshake and topped with whipped cream and graham cracker crumbs. Then I put little BOO faces on the glasses with permanent marker and serve them up to my favorite little guests. The kids go crazy for the cute little ghost faces and I don't sweat it when they slurp up a tiny mini-milkshake.

One year I served these and just poured in milk and rimmed the shot glass with Halloween sprinkles and chocolate and they were a huge hit. But now that my daughter is older she wants sweets and is all about the pumpkin. Since I rarely have time to make homemade pumpkin ice cream these days I make these with our favorite pumpkin ice cream from the store.

If you want to make these even richer try topping them with salted caramel or warm chocolate sauce. Everyone will go wild for your additions and thank you for the deliciousness in their glass. And don't forget, if you don't have mini shot glasses just pour these into fall-themed paper cups. They'll look adorable on any table and be such a hit at your party!

We're having a Boo Bash here on Food Fanatic! If you're planning a Halloween party this year, we've got plenty of recipes to make your little ghouls and goblins scream with delight. Don't miss Kim's Candy Apples or Heather's Icky Intestines Bread too!
