This classic French dish sounds and looks fancy, but it is incredibly easy to make!
Truthfully, you almost don't need a recipe to create this potato side dish. I love to serve this version with my "Perfect Beef Tenderloin."
- Start with thinly sliced potatoes and layer them in a cake pan with melted butter (lots of butter!), herbs and Parmesan cheese.
- When you are done, press the potatoes down firmly with the bottom of another cake pan.
- Bake until golden brown.
- Turn out onto serving plate. Slice and serve! (Hint: If you start with a sprig of fresh thyme at the bottom of the cake pan, it will look beautiful when you turn it out for serving.)
When you flip the potatoes out of the pan they will be golden brown and perfectly crispy. You can even see the beautiful layers of sliced potatoes from the side.
