New England Lobster Roll

I'm not kidding when I tell you this might be the best lobster roll I have ever tasted!  Now, I can't take all the credit, because this recipe actually comes from Chef Vosika at the Four Seasons Hotel in Boston.  I knew it was going to be good because New Englanders know their lobster!

A few weeks back I planned a surprise getaway for my sister and I to go to Boston.  Now that we are both living in New York City, this fantastic city is just a bus ride away.

She had no idea I arranged this all to be her surprise bachelorette weekend!

It's so fun to be on the East Coast now and be able to explore all the cities in this part of the country.   I was completely captivated by Boston.  To the point I could really see myself living there and loving every minute!

We stayed for the weekend at the elegant Four Seasons Boston.  Not only was this property perfectly luxurious for our sister weekend together, it was also steps from the outstanding shopping on Newbury and Charles Streets.

Our room overlooked the Boston Common.  It was the ideal spot to people watch while relaxing in the hotel robe and slippers!  (This might be my definition of heaven…)

Of course, this was a bachelorette weekend, so we had to hit the bars!  Dessert bars, that is…

The Four Seasons Boston creates a lavish dessert bar on Saturday evenings in their signature restaurant, The Bristol Lounge.  Be sure to take a look at their website and check out their menus.  The Four Seasons is always ready to cater to their guests every need. You will see menus that are gluten-free, dairy-free, shellfish-free, nut-free, vegetarian and vegan.

For two girls with a sweet tooth, this was a spectacular way to celebrate my sister's pending nuptials.

The next morning started out with a leisurely breakfast in bed.   (But first, a photo.  Obviously.)

Now you need to know something – my sister loves doughnuts.  I mean she really loves doughnuts!  She actually scopes out the best doughnut shops in every city she visits and carefully analyzes each and every bite in search of America's best.  When I saw on the Four Seasons Boston instagram account that they sometimes make their own house-made doughnuts, I knew we just had to order some to try.

By the way, if you want to see some drool-worthy photos, follow the hashtag #FStaste on Instagram and Twitter to check out delicious images from their properties all over the globe!

I was lucky enough to visit with the hotel staff and several of the chefs during our stay.  They generously shared some of their recipes with me so I could pass on a little taste of Boston to all of you!

No matter where you are in the country, if you make this iconic dish, you will be instantly transported to New England.  One hint, if you don't want to cook your own live lobster, you can always ask the seafood department to steam it for you before you bring it home.

This recipe comes from Executive Chef Brooke Vosika at the Four Seasons Boston.
