No Bake Peanut Butter Pie Trifle Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 box White Cake Mix, or vanilla cake mix
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1/2 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 1 8 ounce package Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Powdered Sugar
  • 3 8-ounce containers Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together cake mix, water, oil, and eggs, until mixture is just smooth.
  2. Pour batter into a lightly greased 9x13-inch baking pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes, or until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  4. Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
  5. Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, beat peanut butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, and two containers whipped topping, until smooth and creamy.
  6. To assemble trifle:
  7. Roughly chop or break apart the cake into 1-inch cubes or bite-sized pieces.
  8. Scatter 1/3 of the cake pieces into the bottom of a large trifle dish.
  9. Spoon half the peanut butter mixture over the cake in the trifle dish.
  10. Scatter another 1/3 of the cake pieces over the peanut butter layer.
  11. Spread with the remaining container of whipped topping.
  12. Scatter the remaining cake pieces over the whipped topping layer.
  13. Spoon remaining peanut butter mixture into the trifle dish.
  14. Sprinkle with cake crumbs or graham cracker crumbs, for garnish, if desired.
